The Colorado Trail Take the backcountry route through Colorado's mountains and forests while touring the Colorado Trail. Extending from Denver to Durango, the trail is separated into 28 sections to make it more manageable. The best time of year to attempt the trail is from mid-June until early September, because after that the weather is too unpredictable. Access: Running from Denver to Durango, the Colorado Trail has access points in the National Parks and Forests that cross its path, as well as in many of the communities. |
